Below are answers to the questions families most often ask us about Morley Early Learning Centre. If you can't find what you're after, please contact us or book a tour.
Absolutely — we encourage every family to tour our Morley childcare centre with your child before you enrol. It's the best way to get a feel for the environment, meet our educators and ask questions. You can book a tour through our website or by calling us on (08) 9375 8818.
No. Joining our waitlist is completely free. We do ask that if your circumstances change and you no longer need care, you let us know so we can offer the place to another family.
We provide childcare for children from 6 weeks of age through to 5 years. Our three rooms — Explorers (Nursery, 0–2 years), Discoverers (Toddlers, 2–3 years) and Inventors (Kindy, 3–5 years) — are each tailored to that age group.
We are open Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 6:00pm. We are closed on weekends and public holidays.
Yes — like all early learning centres, fees still apply on absent days, including sickness. Please let us know before 10:00am if your child won't be attending. The Australian Government's Child Care Subsidy generally allows up to 42 absence days a year, so government rebates may continue to apply.
Yes. If your booked day falls on a public holiday, fees still apply because we are required to pay our educators. The Child Care Subsidy covers up to 42 absence days per year (which includes public holidays), so eligible families generally still receive their CCS rebate on those days.
Yes. Our centre cook prepares fresh, seasonal, healthy meals on-site each day — breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack. We accommodate allergies and dietary needs and post our weekly menu at the centre and online.
Fees can be paid by direct bank transfer or by debit/credit card.
Most families are entitled to the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), which is means-tested and activity-tested through Centrelink. Make sure your child is registered with Centrelink, then complete the activity-test claim through your myGov account. Centrelink will allocate a percentage and approved hours per fortnight.
Yes. Our Inventors room is a dedicated kindy programme for children aged 3–5. Compared to a school-based kindy, ours runs longer hours, includes meals, runs almost all year, and is delivered by qualified early childhood educators against the EYLF.
A child's first five years lay the foundation for everything that follows. The brain develops most of its neural pathways in this period and is at its most receptive to learning. High-quality early education during these years has been shown to improve cognitive, social and emotional outcomes well into adulthood.
We ask families to arrive at least 15 minutes before closing so there's time to gather belongings and chat with educators. Parents who arrive after 6:00pm are charged a per-minute, per-staff-member late fee. If we cannot reach anyone on the authorised pick-up list, we will contact the police as a child safety measure.
The EYLF is Australia's national framework for early childhood education. It describes the principles, practices and outcomes we use to support children's learning from birth to age five. It emphasises play-based learning, communication and social-emotional development across five key outcomes.
The NQF is the national system that brings consistency and quality to early childhood education and care across Australia. Centres are assessed against seven quality areas covering education, health and safety, environment, staffing, relationships, partnerships and leadership.
